How do I sign up for a class?
- Check the TOTC Calendar for current class information.
- Classes require the discipline to train your dog every day during the session.
- These classes are not designed for children under 13 years of age.
- Download and print the Class Enrollment Form.* Sorry, no online signup at this time.
- Fill in the form, sign both pages and bring them with you to your first class.
What else will I need?
- Bring your dog and current vaccination records (not just a tag) to the first class proving DHLP-Parvo & Rabies protection. For puppies, bring your receipts or record book showing your most recent round of vaccinations.
- A Collar. Your collar may be a slip chain, nylon, cotton, leather or prong - your choice. Pick a collar that fits your dog - not too big or small, long or short. If you like, we will provide you with a properly fitted training collar for just $4. For a puppy, pick a nylon, cotton or leather collar or harness that is adjustable and will "grow" with the pup.
- A 6-foot lead, often called a leash. Choose nylon, cotton or leather. Do not bring a metal chain leash. If you like, we will provide you with a nylon lead for just $4. If you are in the Pet Classes, in about a month you will need a 15-foot or longer nylon or cotton lead to help teach your dog to come to you from a distance.
- Training treats. To reward your dog when they do well. Choose soft (not chewy or hard), small tidbits that your pup can gulp down quickly - pea-sized works well.
- A water bowl. Tap water is available, but feel free to bring your own water, too.
- Dress for the weather. The Lucky Dog Training Building is climate controlled and the arena is a covered, packed-dirt pavilion. Don't wear open-toed sandals to class. Training your dog will be a moderate exercise for you, so be prepared for lots of moving around. Puppy and Pet classes will be inside. Agility classes will be in the arena.
