TOTC GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
MAY 6, 2010 AT LUCKY DOG PARK
President
Harry Steelman called the meeting to order at 7:45 PM.
MINUTES
OF THE LAST MEETING: A motion was made, seconded and approved to dispense with
the reading of the minutes of the April meeting.
REPORT
OF PRESIDENT: Harry reminded us of the Obedience Demo we were to give Saturday
May 29 at the Anderson County Livestock Expo Center between 11:00 AM and 1:00
PM. He let the club know that we were invited to appear at Mutt Mania in Longview
but the Board decided not to have a formal TOTC group attend. It would make for
three weekends in a row with TOTC activities and the Board felt that would be
too much. Dave Visniski asked about admission to the May 29 event. Joyce said
that the new TOTC Drill Team would be the participants in the demonstration and
would not be charged admission.
REPORT
OF THE TREASURER: Treasurer Don Etheridge said that profit in the past month
came mostly from Agility entry fees and would be used for trial expenses. A
motion was made, seconded and passed accepting DonÕs report. A full copy of the
financial report is available to any member upon request.
REPORT
OF THE TRAINING DIRECTOR: Training Director Joyce Anderson said that, since a
new set of Obedience classes were scheduled to start the next week help would
be needed with registration. Kathleen McCullough was set to teach Pet Class
although Harry Steelman would substitute the first night. Don Etheridge had
volunteered to teach Advanced Rally and Cheryl Etheridge Advanced Obedience.
REPORT
OF THE TRAINING SECRETARY: Training Secretary Carl Strange also asked for as
many people as possible to help with registration.
COMMITTEES:
Agility
Trials May 15 & 16 at Texas Rose Horse Park Š Trial Chair Cheryl Etheridge
asked that anyone available come and help set up the facility beginning around
3:00 PM on Friday the 14th. The judge we thought needed supervision recently
became fully qualified so we can save that expense. So far our number of
entries were similar to that of the February show. Robin Visniski asked if we
were going to call members well ahead of the Trials since the personal touch
seems to help bring more members out. Cheryl and Don Etheridge, Carl Strange,
Robin Visniski, Phyllis Hagen and Debbie Lovelady volunteered to make calls. Anyone
coming to steward needed to arrive by 7:45 AM at the latest. Robin passed
around the Raffle list one more time to get final donations.
Obedience
& Rally Trials, July 31 & August 1 in Longview Š Trial Chair Don
Etheridge reported that everything was approved and our dates are on both the
AKC and Onofrio websites. We will have Graduate Classes and Versatility this
year. Kathleen McCullough, who is in charge of prizes, said she needed one more
sponsor for a class.
